Companies in Saxony-Anhalt were therefore not affected.

The negotiations in the collective bargaining conflict for employees in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia were interrupted in mid-September and postponed to October 4th

Verdi demands an increase in wages and salaries by 4.5 percent plus 45 Euro monthly. In addition, the union demands a minimum wage of 12, 50 Euro per hour.

The employers offer a three-year financial statement and for the first year after two zero months 2 percent, for the second year 1.4 percent and for the third year a 2 percent increase. For companies that were particularly affected by the pandemic, the increases are to be paid ten months or six months later. The union rejects this – and sees it as the greatest point of conflict. Since the beginning of collective bargaining on June 1, Verdi had called for warning strikes in all three countries to increase the pressure.
