As a hybrid event, the trade fair will be “even more valuable” for exhibitors and visitors, said trade fair boss Jochen Köckler to journalists on Wednesday in Hanover. “The digital addition will remain.”

At the same time, it is a great pleasure that the upcoming Hanover Fair will take place from 25. until 29. April 2022 can take place again as a face-to-face event. The many contacts in direct conversation could not be replaced by digital communication, said Köckler.

2020 the fair was canceled due to the Corona crisis, this year it was only running in digital format. For the next edition 2022 Portugal is coming to the Lower Saxony capital as a partner country. As in previous years, sustainable production and digitization in industry will be the overarching topics.

As a consequence of the pandemic, Köckler expects a lower participation from China due to the ongoing travel restrictions. At the same time, there are more registrations from Germany and Europe, and registrations from the USA have also increased. Overall, the industrial fair 17 will occupy halls, two fewer than at the fair 2018.
