The Geneva Motor Show has already been canceled twice due to the corona pandemic. Actually, the organizers 2022 wanted to start in a new form. But there was no interest.

Geneva (dpa) – The traditional Geneva Motor Show will not take place next year. Too few organizers had agreed to participate, said a spokesman on Thursday.

The next edition is now planned 2023. Travel restrictions due to the pandemic are hindering the arrival of exhibitors, visitors and journalists, the organizers said. On the other hand, automakers would have different priorities due to the lack of semiconductors.

The Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) began more than 100 years. Along with the IAA in Germany, the Tokyo Motor Show and the Detroit Auto Show, it was one of the most important auto shows in the world.
