In the software industry, the automation of factories and offices has been a major topic for years. Even online criminals have discovered the advantages for themselves after analyzing a group.

Munich (dpa) – After a new data analysis, criminal hackers are increasingly relying on automated mass attacks in cyber attacks. On the other hand, targeted attacks in which hackers are still personally at the computer are becoming rarer, according to the new Cybercrime Report from the US company Lexisnexis with the help of bot networks worldwide by 41 percent to an estimated 1.2 billion individual cases, about half of which therefore affected companies in the Financial services area. Bot attacks are attacks from remote-controlled networked computers. Malicious botnets are mostly used to send spam or steal user data. Non-automated hacker attacks decreased by almost 22 percent.

The country Most bot attacks originated in the United States, according to the report. The growth in automated online attacks was strongest in the Asia-Pacific and Latin America regions. In contrast, the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa) recorded the smallest increase. Billions of logins and almost five billion payment transactions. The company belongs to the London Relx Group, an international provider of databases, including security software for digital identification.
